Real Value For Your Money |
|
Saturday, 09 May 2009 |
Times are tight and businesses are looking for ways to cut costs. You may have even been thinking of cutting out some company events. We are here to help!
You CAN afford to show your employees you care and stay within the budget. Catering from Double Barrel BBQ has always been affordable, with menu’s starting at just $10 bucks! OK, so maybe all the bells and whistles aren’t in the cards this year but don’t think that your employees won’t notice if you cancel the event all together. Feeding your people says a lot about how you feel about them. So we have put together a list of tips and tricks to keep costs low and still have a great time.
- Consider a weekday event. Caterers have no problem filling up their Saturday’s and usually charge a premium for them. The very best deals will be during the week at lunch or the end of the workday when guests can be invited.
- Combine your event with a meeting you may have already planned. You can also use this time to talk to your company about what is going on, what’s the current strategy, give recognition, and tell them “thank you”.
- Have your event on company property, a public park or at your home. Your people will probably be more comfortable at the park than a stuffy hotel ballroom or other expensive venue and you will save money. One of our clients used their warehouse, brought in bales of hay and red checked table covers and had a “barn” party!
- Make up your own games and entertainment like tug-o-war, sack races, and the water balloon toss. It sounds corny but once you get started these are a laugh riot! Rentals, DJ’s and entertainers can cost a lot of money. Don’t forget the iPod and boom box for music!
- Bring your own drinks. Sounds simple and it is, caterers will charge up to a couple dollars per person to fill a cooler with sodas. You can do it for 25 cents per person! Remember to get plenty of waters too; they go fast in the summer.
- Have a potluck dessert contest! Your employees’ can sign up to enter and bring their specialty dessert. Make up some prizes and pass out ballots so everyone can vote on their favorite. Desserts are stable and safe to potluck (unlike most main and side dishes). Prizes can be low cost too, like a special parking space for a month or some other office privilege.
- Spare Ribs instead of Prime Rib! Yep, believe it, a menu of real southern style pit barbeque from Double Barrel BBQ will be more appealing to your company than the rubber banquet chicken from a hotel or high end caterer. Better food at better prices, every thing we do is made from scratch and full of flavor, your guests are sure to be impressed.

The Ultimate Rib Rack Is Here! |

Ultimate Rib Rack
Price:
$29.99
Finally, a rib rack that does the job! I have been barbecuing for a long time and tried a lot of different rib racks. None of them met my expectations. Some fell apart only after a season or two. Some crowded the ribs so the heat and smoke didn’t penetrate evenly and some were just way to expensive. All of that led me to design my own. I met with a fabricator and after a couple of prototypes the Ultimate Rib Rack was born. It will hold 4 of the biggest meatiest racks of spares you can find or 4 of the smallest racks of baby back or 4 half chickens or any combination thereof.
I have been barbecuing for a long time and tried a lot of different rib racks and none of them met my expectations. We made sure the rib spacing was perfect to ensure even heat and smoke penetration, and used heavy gauge steel with a chrome finish for durability and easy cleaning. Whether you are barbecuing for your friends and family or are an old pro feeding hundreds at a time this rack will work for you. Check out our online Mercantile for more info, and if you are a restaurant or caterer call Jim, (877)750-2924, for info about bulk discounts and savings on shipping.

Catering Business is Thriving.
To our friends, clients and prospective clients,
By now many of you know that there was a fire at our retail location in Burlington. No one was hurt but the damage was extensive and it will take some time before we are able to re-open the retail store.
Double Barrel BBQ lost a building, not the business. We will fulfill all of our catering contracts and we need our new catering clients now more than ever! However, it is imperative that you also know that we are still catering! Rest assured that if you have paid a deposit to us you will be taken care of and if you were considering booking our services we have the capacity to take care of you as well. We have a commissary kitchen to work out of and our ability to produce and serve that great tasting southern style BBQ is not lost or even diminished! Our BBQ's are working, and so are we, to make your event a memorable one.
Thanks to all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers, I have been personally touched by the outpouring of support I have received from everyone. Thank you! Please help us by getting the word out that we are still catering and if you haven't done so yet, book that date!
Watch the web site and our reader board sign for our announcements and we look forward to seeing you in our newly remodeled restaurant!
Very sincerely yours,
Jim |

"I was fortunate enough to have been one of the people invited to the “Dinner on the Bridge” last night, and I want you to know that you guys hit a home run on the food! Thank you so much for not only helping to support the Camp’s fund raising efforts, but also for providing an outstanding dining experience for our guests. I didn’t get a chance to thank your staff who set everything up, but you all couldn’t have done a better job. Everyone raved about the barbeque! Thank you."
